CoverKit CoverKit v0.1.13

Open Graph images

CoverKit supports several use cases from the same templates. This page covers social link previews via the Open Graph image use case—one built-in output among others such as featured images and the Sandbox editor profile.

When that use case is enabled, CoverKit generates preview images from your template and WordPress data. When someone shares a link to your site, platforms can use the og:image URL CoverKit outputs in the page <head>.

  1. Create a template (1200×630 px works well for social previews).
  2. Design your layout in the template editor.
  3. Enable the Open Graph image use case and map required fields (at minimum post title).
  4. Publish the template and verify og:image on a matching front-end page.

On eligible front-end views, CoverKit prints Open Graph meta tags (including og:image) using the first matching published template. Images are generated and cached on your server—see Caching if previews look stale.
